Hello! I am Suzanne Harrawood, a certified, licensed, bilingual speech-language therapist. I am fluent in English and Spanish and offer therapy in both languages. I have a lot of experience treating a wide range of communication difficulties, and work primarily with children and young adults. I offer engaging, interactive teletherapy via video conferencing.
Soy una logopeda bilingüe (español/inglés). Ofrezco videoterapia.
About Me
I lived the first eighteen years of my life in El Salvador, the tiny, beautiful country in Central America. That is why Spanish is my native language, and why I like my coffee strong. ☕I came to Florida to pursue university studies, and fell in love with the landscape and with the wonderful man I now call my husband.
I attended the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College and majored in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Language and Literature. My Honors thesis explored polysemy in “Gargantua and Pantagruel,” a novel by the sixteenth century writer François Rabelais. Subsequently, I earned a Masters in Literature and wrote a thesis on John Milton’s “Paradise Lost,” in which I explored the semiotics of fallen vs. divine language. I have always been interested in the nature of language, and the complexity and importance of communication.
I taught at Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, Florida, prior to becoming an SLP.
After teaching high school, I pursued my Masters in Speech-Language Pathology. I earned that degree in 2012 and began practicing the profession.
